Rochmanna (Pamela)'s Story

Life Greetings Sea Kings of 1971. Many of you may remember me as Pamela Miller. But now my first name is Rochmanna (Pamela) Diane Miller, as part of a multi-dimensional spiritual awakening as well as a connection with my ancestry. Many of you may have remembered my preference was for art (though I enjoyed all subjects and did quite well--loving English and History--frankly all of it. I have been teaching English and the Humanities (blending art and ALL of it interdisciplinarily)at Roosevelt High School in Los Angeles (home of the mighty Rough Riders) for 26-27 years. In the midst, I have worked on a number of fellowships and programs, taught adjunct at CSULA after the day at high school, plus I have written non-fiction articles and am published in several books. Currently, I live in Los Angeles (Miracle Mile near Los Angeles County Museum of Art/La Brea Tar Pits.) We are currently, at my high school, putting together a small learning community called Performing Arts/Human Expression that will be quite fascinating we think (it is a group of us of various subjects/specialties.) I miss the quick jump to the ocean--but also enjoy the energy of the city. I do enjoy travelling to various other "energy spots" (predominantly domestic--but some outside U.S.) to enter another world or get off the city dynamo for awhile. This is briefly an overview of my current life. I have seen a number of you at our 10th, 20th, and (nice and intimate) 30th reunion. Alas--who's up for the 40th. The best to you all--and I hope all your lives are fullfilling. Do drop a line should you have the inkling to! Best Wishes--Rochmanna (Pamela) Diane Miller Ah--P.S.--it has been suggested I mention places I have been: New Mexico (Santa Fe, Ta...Expand for more
os, Albuquerque), New England, New York (many family visits in the city and upstate), Paris and other parts of Europe, the Pacific Northwest (Oregon and Washington), Vancouver, Hawaii (Oahu and Kuwai), Scottsdale and Sedona Arizona--gad many more--but the favorites. Now: Schools: UCI-English and Comparative Lit. (with some wonderful study at Monterey Peninsula College (BIG SUR!!YES!!) and Orange Coast College in the midst in Humanities. Teaching Credential: UCLA. MA English CSULA (while teaching). Extension courses in Journalism, Creative Writing at UCLA, studies at the Academy of Motion Pictures and Sciences and LA County Art Museum (frankly--many more mini-cities. In writing, I am currently working on a new form of memoir, imaginative short story, cinema--some new directions---plus I would not mind getting on the ceramics wheel again. Signing off again--Rochmanna (Pamela) Diane Miller School Biggest crush---hmmm--secret--real people and famous musicians of the time (guess!!). Aminah Clark was definitely my most inspiring teacher in all realms of English and psychology. However, a toast to all of them. My art teachers---especially Joan (and cannot remember her last name!!) and my ceramics teacher (total memory loss--anyone remember? If I could do it all over again---actually loved all of it--maybe I would have tried drama or created a club for eclectics. Happiest moments are probably watching the growth and development of all each reunion. I do remember some great school rock concerts with alight shows in the gym. One crazy school memory--someone in my ceramics class who specialized in making pumpkins--only. But--you had to say they were quite good. Well--that's it for memory lane mightly Sea Kings!!
